Alex Gonzalez is a Colombian multi-instrumentalist, producer, and sound designer based in the United States since 2001. His primary instrument is guitar, but his practice spans djembes, flutes, native Colombian drums, ukulele, gaitas, samplers, synthesizers, and other acoustic and electronic instruments, reflecting a broad and versatile command of rhythm and texture.

In 2013, Gonzalez completed studies in live sound and audio production at the Institute of Audio Research in New York and released his first studio project, INDIGO, with The Jam Korporation. This marked the formal launch of his recorded work and laid the foundation for subsequent collaborations and live performances. A few years later, he joined DeRaiz, a New Jersey based band formed in 2013 that blends multiple genres to deliver dynamic, high-energy shows. Through DeRaiz, Alex has expanded his role as a performer and arranger, contributing both as a guitarist and as a sound-focused creative.

Under his solo pseudonym SOLARPLEX, Alex develops original material that explores the relationship between sound, the human body, and emotional well-being. This project allows him to integrate his technical background with a research-driven, experiential approach to the restorative and meditative potential of music.
